Disability Insurance
Disability insurance is a type of insurance that will provide income in the event a worker is unable to perform their work and earn money due to a disability. If a person becomes disabled, they must wait until the elimination period is over before they start receiving benefits.
There are different kinds of disability insurance coverage, as well as different costs depending on elimination period, same or own occupation, etc. Disability insurance can be in the form of individual insurance plans or group insurance plans, as well as government plans such as workers’ compensation and benefits provided under the Canada Pension Plan.
